Notes
- Ropers and Keiths were kin at several levels. This Mary Jane Roper,born in about 1796, married Martin Keith. There was a later Mary JaneRoper, born in about 1824, who mother was a Keith, Sarah Ann Keith,according to some genealogies, daughter of a George Keith. Her motherwas Margaret S Mackey, whose father was named Joel Mackey. The MaryJane Roper born in 1824 married a Sanders D Caruth. Some genealogiesappear to have confused some of these different Keiths and Ropers withsimilar names. I am still working on this.
