• Cited in the Blust-Reed genealogy, Genealogies of Kentucky Families(Genealogical Publishing Co, Inc, 1981), p 138:
  "John Crawford, a Scotchman, emigrated to Virginia.  He lost his lifein the Indian Campaign of Bacon's Rebellion.  He was the youngest sonof Earl Crawford.  He had only one son, David.  He received a landgrant from Governor Berkley."

  Some genealogies report John's date of death as 1670, rather than1676.  Similarly several genealogies report the year of birth as 1606. I have not found public records that will clarify the birth or deathdates for John.
