  In the 1880 census, Harriet and Duncan are living in LafayetteTownship of Scott County, Arkansas.  That is in the eastern centralpart of the state, east and bit north of the current capital ofArkansas, Little Rock.  Harriet's nephew is living with them.  Theenumerator spells the family name Sligo, rather than Sliger.  Thismight indicate the way the family pronounced the name.  But Duncan'sname is spelled even more strangely, with the first name appearingonly as a prefix on Lafayette, but the middle two syllables of themiddle name are transposed:
